Every claim in this wiki carries a tag. Here's what they mean, and where each idea lands.

Established Established

Replicated findings, in textbooks, with broad agreement.

  • Binaural beats are a real perception created in the brainstem, and need headphones.
  • Slow breathing and progressive relaxation reduce physical arousal.
  • Mental rehearsal improves real performance, less than physical practice.
  • Specific "when X, I will do Y" plans raise follow-through.
  • Naming a feeling dampens the amygdala's response.
  • Imagery uses many of the same brain areas as perception.
  • Habits form through repetition in a stable context; it takes weeks to months.

Emerging Emerging

Promising, with real studies, but mixed, small or not yet settled.

  • Binaural beats reduce anxiety and help attention a little; effects vary by person.
  • Binaural beats entrain brainwaves or synchronise the hemispheres. Studies go both ways.
  • Gratitude practices give small wellbeing improvements.
  • Outcome-style affirmations can backfire for people low in self-esteem.
  • Open, spacious attention (Focus 12-style) changes attention and self-related networks.

Speculative Speculative

Ideas from the 1983 report that we present as history, not fact.

  • Consciousness as energy interacting with a "universal hologram".
  • Focus 15 and Focus 21 as distinct states beyond time and space.
  • Remote viewing and out-of-body travel. We don't include these.

What we will never claim

That a session will make money arrive, change an illness, cause weight loss, or that anything here replaces professional care.
